Dangerous Bazaars

A conversation about payment processors and queer media sent me on a few tangents about the history of speech & repression; there’s a bill in Congress which would establish actually worthwhile limits on banks’ ability to interfere with speech by denying access to banking services based on “reputational risk”.

A quick meditation on pre-production, and how it’s shaping my framing of the story I’m building. For a small, relatively internal story that can be elided somewhat, but for a larger, longer-term and more intricate novel structure, it’s becoming clear it’s vital to establish the tone and give me the context this story will need.
